Before you buyquick answers
I've never burned resin. Will I get this wrong?

Probably once. Almost everyone does, and it is nearly always the same thing: too much resin at once, which only means more smoke than you wanted. Light the coal at its edge and wait until it greys over. Then one tear, and sit down. The card in the box says it in four lines if you forget.

Is it too strong for a small flat?

Not if you use the mica. Laid over the coal it warms the resin instead of burning it, so you get the scent with almost no smoke. One tear is genuinely all a small room needs. It holds for an hour or two, then it lets go.

What if I simply don't like the smell?

Then it is not for you, and that is a real answer. Write to me within thirty days, send back what you have not used, and I refund it. You do not have to explain yourself. I would rather you had one honest evening with it than a box you feel you ought to keep.

Where does it ship from?

From Olsztyn in Poland, and it leaves the next working day. Poland and Germany in one or two days, the rest of the EU in two to four, the UK in four to seven. Checkout shows the delivery cost before you pay. Outside the EU, any import charges are collected by the courier on delivery.

Is Boswellia sacra being over-harvested?

In places, yes. Overtapped by some, ignored by most. A tree cut too often stops giving good resin, and in the end stops giving any. We buy straight from the families who tap the trees in Dhofar, with nobody in between, and every lot carries its number, so a box can be traced back to where it came from. I cannot show you a certificate for that. I can tell you I have stood under those trees.

The ritual

Simpler than it looks.

Four short films, no sound, looping where they sit. Light the coal, set it down, lay the mica on. Then the part that is not a step.

  1. 2 minutes

    Light the coal

Hold it in the tongs, touch it to a flame. It catches and sparks across in seconds.

    Ready when it greys over

  2. 3 minutes

    Set it in the burner

Lower it in and wait. Two or three minutes, until the sparking stops and a pale ash forms.

No smoke yet, this is the pause

  3. 1 minute

    Lay the mica on

Then one tear on the plate, whichever of the five the evening asks for. The resin melts instead of burning. Barely any smoke, and no bitter edge.

It melts, it does not burn

  4. 30 minutes

    Sit down

It holds the room for about half an hour. That part is not a step, it is the reason. Breathe, and give yourself to whatever draws you closer to yourself. This scent has been the background to moments like that for as long as there have been people. Now it is inviting you.

    Nothing left to do

The maker

I grew up in the smoke, before I knew what it was.

In Oman, when a baby is born, they fill the room with frankincense. I was born in Salalah, wrapped in that smoke, and for years I did not realise what I had been given.

A decade later I came home, and the stillness did not come with me. Same practice, same intention, and the walls would not hold it. What held it was the smoke I was born into and had never once looked at.

I didn't start Sacrasoul. I returned to it.

Now I sort this resin by hand with the harvesters in Dhofar, and this is the box that leaves nothing out, the rare green included.

The questions

Before you take the whole harvest.

What is the difference between the five resins?

Hojari grounds — white and black tears together, clean and quiet, and the one you have most of. Amber warms, honey-gold and slow. Myrrh is the oldest of them, dark and dry where the others are sweet. Dragon's Blood is red and sharp, from Socotra, for when a room needs clearing. Jade is the rare green grade, bright and lifting.

Which one do I start with?

The Hojari. It is the most forgiving and you have ninety grams of it, so there is room to learn how little you actually need. Burn it for a week until the ritual feels like yours, then let curiosity choose. There is no wrong order.

Is this too much for one person?

Only if it had a deadline, and it doesn't. Resin does not spoil: the Amber in this box matured for years before we bagged it, so nothing here is on a clock. This is the shelf you stop restocking. The collection waits for you. It demands nothing.

How long will it last?

Fifty burns of coal, and far more resin than fifty burns will use. The coal is what runs out first, and it is the cheap part. How long that lasts is yours to set — we would rather count what is in the box than guess at your evenings.

Is it safe around children and animals?

The coal stays lit for about half an hour and the burner gets hot, so it wants a heatproof surface and a place children and animals cannot reach. Never leave it burning in an empty room, and open a window a little while it does.

What happens when it runs out?

Only the resin and the coal run out. The burner, the tongs and the mica stay with you for good. Charcoal is €6 a roll when you need more, and less by the pack.

The scents of the resins and the oil are captivating; they seduce with warmth, mystery, and depth. I began by burning the green frankincense, and I can feel how beautifully it quiets me. For someone who carries constant tension and a restless mind, that is truly something.

I burned it through the whole house, and I know the resin won't last long here, not because it is inefficient but because the scent is unreal and I will reach for it often. The oils stole my heart too.

I was extremely curious about the green royal resin, and it did not disappoint. It arrived and it is wonderful. The scent is beautiful, fresh and full of energy, truly exceptional.

Once I waited for the charcoal to turn completely white before laying the resin on, just as you said, the smoke came much more calmly and majestically. For now my son and I have been enjoying the smoke on the terrace. Your shop and your work are a real gem I'm glad I found.

I'm just beginning my journey with Sultan's Jade Frankincense. A beautiful scent, and the atmosphere in the room starts to form on its own. On the mica plate there's no smoke at all, the resin only gently simmers.

Out of the four, the green Jade is the one I keep going back to. I light a single piece once the flat has gone quiet and I sit with it a while. My shoulders come down from around my ears, which no candle ever managed for me.

I've bought frankincense from three different sellers, and only here was the Jade actually green, not brown pretending to be green. The scent is clean and alive. I hold back one star only because the charcoal takes patience to master, but the resin itself is the real Omani thing.

In the evening I lay the four little bags, the burner and the tongs out on a tray. There is something in the arranging of it that slows me down before I have even lit the coal. It feels made by hand, not bought in a shop.

I am going through them slowly, one every few evenings, rather than rushing. The green Jade quiets my head the most so far. Having them all in one box means I do not have to decide before I light the coal.

I gave it to my sister for her birthday and honestly I was a little jealous handing it over. Everything is in the box, the four resins, the coal, the mica, nothing left to buy. She messaged me that night after she burned the Jade. I have since ordered my own.

Sunday evening, before the week starts pulling at me, I burn a piece of the Jade and tidy the kitchen slowly. It has turned into a small thing I count on. The dragon's blood I save for when I cannot settle.

No complaints about the scent, all four are the real thing and the Jade is the star. My only grumble is that the amber bag empties quicker than the rest, probably because I like it best. I will be ordering the amber on its own.
